Tatiana Nikolaevna, the second daughter of Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna, was widely regarded as the most composed of the four sisters. Tall, elegant, and naturally self-possessed, she demonstrated a calm authority that often placed her in the role of organiser and intermediary within the family. Beneath her poised exterior lay a steady sense of duty, practicality, and emotional resilience.
Tatiana was affectionately known as “the Governess” by her siblings.
